A strong Board chair-executive director partnership is the central linchpin in achieving board productivity, achievement of the strategic mission, and organizational and financial sustainability. Yet vague job descriptions, lack of time, and uncertainty about whose job it is to initiate and nurture the relationship get in the way of maximizing this board leverage point. This workshop will examine 10 specific relationship commitments and a model for clear division of tasks to support the chair-executive leadership team in adding value to your organization, and relieving the burden on executive directors.
Presenter: Lizann Peyton, is an organization development consultant working with nonprofit boards and community groups on board development, organizational assessment and capacity-building, strategic planning, board training, group facilitation, and fundraising strategies for small oragnizations. She specializes in helping small nonprofits with sustainability and board teamwork issues.
