“I support CCTV because of their ongoing and in-depth coverage of concerns in Vermont, such as health care, nuclear power and nuclear weapons. The fact is that free speech is elusive in mainstream media because money talks the loudest. Public access TV gives us the chance to pursue the truth."
- Margaret Harrington, Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom

Dear Friend of Free Speech:

Thank you so much for being part of our community of people and organizations that support free speech, public access and open networks in Vermont.

Thanks to people like YOU who believe that free speech is the cornerstone of democracy and essential building block of social change, CCTV Center for Media & Democracy celebrates 26 years with an Anniversary Picnic and Silent Auction on Friday, June 11th from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Oakledge Park in Burlington. Hope you can join us to bid on items, visit friends, eat some cake and have fun! You can check out auction items on our website at www.cctv.org.

All of the work at CCTV would be impossible without community support.  In the last twelve months, more than 2,500 people have come through our “doors” to appear on Channel 17/ Town Meeting Television, attend Media Maven workshops, hire CCTV Productions and engage with Common Good Vermont events and training.

Building on this support, we are pleased to report that the board and staff of CCTV have pledged a challenge gift of $2,500 to the CCTV Free Speech Fund.  This means that we will match dollar for dollar the first $2,500 (at any support level) that comes during our 2010 Anniversary Appeal.  You can help us expand our work! Please make your tax-deductible gift by sending the enclosed envelope or donate online at www.cctv.org/donate.

We look forward to seeing you Friday, June 11th at our Anniversary Picnic and Silent Auction and hope you will support CCTV as we continue our work: to open the door to social change.

Happy Summer Solstice! With thanks on behalf of CCTV’s Board and Staff,
