The program features a free carpool/vanpool matching service, ridesharing tips, and other practical information on getting around by biking, walking, bus, train and ferry.
Reducing Car Use: The Role of Transit-Oriented Development 03/04/2010
Reid Ewing is an expert on how the built environment can create mobility alternatives to the car. He talks about recent work he has completed for U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on the effect of the "3Ds"--density of development, diversity of land uses, and design of streets and public spaces--on walking and transit use. Co-sponsored by the CCRPC and the CCMPO. Reid Ewing is a Professor of City and Metroplitan Planning at the University of Utah, associate editor of the Journal of the American Planning Association, columnist for Planning magazine, Fellow of the Urban Land Institute, and member of the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED LP-Technical Advisory Group.
Burlington Ward 6 NPA Meeting 03/04/2010
Neighborhood Planning Assemblies (NPAs) are grassroots, neighborhood organizations that were established in each of Burlington's seven Wards to encourage citizen participation in City government. Working as neighborhood advocacy groups, Neighborhood Planning Assemblies help improve communication between the citizens of Burlington and City government through regular meetings scheduled in each Ward. Ward 6 meets the first Thursday of the month. Meeting place: Greek Orthodox Church 600 South Willard Street.
