Nonprofit Skill Building Series Launches in 2010
Nonprofit Skill Building Series Launches in 2010: We are pleased to announce that Common Good Vermont will launch a new "skill building" series for the state's independent sector in 2010. The VT Nonprofit Maven series will feature 8-12 installments during the upcoming year. These installments will be produced in a variety of convenient formats, featured on Common Good's new website's as part of its "Learning Center" and distributed throughout the state.
In the past several months, you generously responded to our request for "skill builders" interested in sharing their knowledge with colleagues in Vermont's independent sector. The response is impressive! More than 50 folks volunteered to present on a range of topics that include nonprofit administration, board governance, resource development, marketing/media integration, asset management and strategic planning.
Call for Proposals: Now we'd like to turn your interest into specific proposals that we can co-produce with you in 2010. As an experienced presenter and Vermont nonprofit capacity builder, we invite you to submit a proposal for one of several topics/time frames available. We hope you will consider being the host or guest of a individual or panel presentation (20 to 90 minutes). We encourage your proposal to invite guest presenters and utilize interactive features (presenters at remote locations, chats, call-ins). Common Good staff will be able to assist with scheduling productin time and marketing.
You will be asked to choose a “medium” for your proposal that you can be produced at a nearby community access channel, at Vermont Interactive TV locations or via desktop webinars or screencasts. Regular installments of VT Nonprofit Mavens will be featured on the Learning Center of www.CommonGoodVT.org and distributed via the Vermont Media Exchange.
We'd also like you to consider serving for a short time as "resident expert" at the CommonGoodVt.org "Learning Center" --this would involve hosting a simple online “chat” (to take place in an afternoon or over the course of a week). Submit your proposal here.
Short and Easy Application: Use this link to submit your proposal, for an individual or panel presentation on any of the following topics selected for 2010. If you have a burning desire to present on a topic that is not listed below, please do not hesitate to propose it.
We look forward to your proposal - a commitment and brief outline is what we need for now - the deadline is Tuesday, 12/22 at 5 p.m.
Feel free to direct any questions to me at ncarter [at] cctv [dot] org or Lauren-Glenn at davitian [at] cctv [dot] org
