The City of Burlington hosts a community forum about drug trafficking and gun crime, featuring the following panelists:

The City of Burlington held two Public Safety Community Forums to discuss important issues and challenges facing our community: drug trafficking, gun crime, substance use disorder, and property crime. Panelists at each forum present information about ongoing work at the local, state, and federal levels to address these issues, and participants have the opportunity to submit questions in advance on the City’s website.

UVM Community Medical School: How Cannabis Affects the Body & the Brain 10/02/2018

Since July 1, 2018, recreational marijuana has been legal in Vermont, but what do we know about the positive and negative effects of cannabis in the body and the brain?

Peter Jackson, M.D., Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, and Karen Lounsbury, Ph.D., Professor of Pharmacology, provide an understanding of the biologically active chemical components of the cannabis plant - CBD and THC - and how they are processed in the body, as well as the impact of cannabis on the developing brains in youth versus adults.

The discussion also includes the medical value of cannabis chemicals and risk of addiction.
