Description

The Green Mountain Care Board (GMCB) public forum on health insurance rates.

The health insurance rate forum will focus on understanding the cost of health insurance and on efforts to contain the growth in insurance rates – which the GMCB regulates. The forum will feature a panel of Vermont leaders in insurance, hospitals, and consumer advocacy:

Kevin Goddard, vice president of external affairs and sales, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont.
Susan Gretkowski, senior government relations strategist, MVP Health Care.
Peter Sterling, executive director, Vermont Campaign for Health Care Security.
Lila Richardson, staff attorney, Office of Health Care Advocate.
Michael Del Trecco, vice president of finance, Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems.
The GMCB is an independent state agency charged with regulating Vermont’s health system; evaluating the health and financial impacts of health reform; and promoting innovations to make health care affordable and to improve Vermonters’ health.

“Vermont’s Legislature created the GMCB with transparency and public involvement in mind,” said Al Gobeille, chair of the GMCB. “We have designed these two events to encourage public participation, and we hope people in the Burlington area take the time to get involved.”
