Description

From Burlington Progressives TV:

Host Gene Bergman chats with Jacob Berkowitz, Staffing Office Specialist and Support Staff United Bargaining Team Member; Lou Levesque, Patient Service Specialist and Support Staff United Bargaining Team Member; and Heather Bauman, Phlebotomist and Support Staff United Bargaining Team Member.

Progressives have consistently supported the rights and interests of workers and their unions. In January, 2023, 2300 support staff at the UVM Medical Center won a union election in an 86% landslide. They are now in negotiations with the administration for a first contract. Their priorities include Patient and Worker Safety, addressing Short Staffing, and Livable Wages for All. We hear from 3 members of the bargaining team.
