Description

In conjunction with the RAND Corporation, Secretary of Administration, Jeb Spaulding convenes a public meeting to provide Vermonters with the ability to contribute comments for a legislatively-mandated study on the issues involved with possible legalization of marijuana production, distribution, and possession in the State of Vermont.

The 2014 Legislature directed the Secretary of Administration to report to them by Jan. 15, 2015 on the issues surrounding marijuana legalization. The Secretary contracted with the RAND Drug Policy Research Center, a neutral international non-profit organization, to develop the report. The report will not make a recommendation about whether Vermont should legalize marijuana.

Spaulding is joined by Beau Kilmer, Ph.D., Co-Director of the RAND Drug Policy Research Center at the public meeting. The format consists of brief introductory remarks by Secretary Spaulding, a presentation and progress update by Dr. Kilmer, with the remainder of the time devoted to questions and comments from the attendees.
