FREEDOM AND UNITY: THE VERMONT MOVIE: A collaborative film involving over 20 Vermont filmmakers that explores the history of Vermont's independent spirit and activism, from the past to the present. Project Coordinator Nora Jacobson will screen a segment from the work-in-progress and discuss how the film has evolved. The project addresses critical and difficult aspects of Vermont's history from a variety of perspectives and is a model for how the collaborative process can be used to tell our history. Jacobson will be joined by Project Administrator Nat Winthrop, Producer's Committee member Deb Ellis, and Filmmaker Eleanor Lanahan.

Art Supports Me is a new public awareness campaign launched by the Vermont Arts Council in the fall of 2010. To fuel the campaign we have been interviewing participants and artists at local cultural events as well as collecting stories and testimonials on line and in person.

In 1984 the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival gave Vermont's flourishing jazz community the recognition it deserved – a celebration combining incredible local talent with jazz legends from every corner of the globe. The generous support of the business community and private donations have allowed The Flynn Center for the Performing Arts, in association with Burlington City Arts, to create what is today the largest multi-cultural event in Vermont.
