Ed Von Sitas, member of the Essex Memorial Day Parade Committee and a Vietnam Veteran, speaks with Grand Marshall George W. Bergin, Navy Senior Chief, Korean Veteran, and Ed Daudelin, Committee Member and Commander of VFW Post 6689 on their service and the plans for the Essex Memorial Day Service and Parade. The 2014 Theme is 'All Gave Some - Some Gave All'. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 23rd, 7:00pm in the Essex Congregational Church. Parade starts at 10am on Saturday, May 24th through the Essex Five corners.

Many of us look at vegetables as side dishes and simple food items, but vegetables have a hidden history that reveals a major role in human events. Local scientist and author Rebecca Rupp shares some of the lesser known origins, historical legends and stories behind common garden vegetables.

CCTV Center for Media & Democracy is pleased to announce receipt of a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Humanities Collections and Reference Resources grant alongside 32 peer archival institutions across the country.
