The Chitttenden County Historical Society and the Winooski Historical Society co-sponsor authors, Anthony J. Marro and Stephen C. Terry, (Samuel B. Hand was unavailable) speaking about their recent book 'Philip Hoff: How Red Turned Blue in the Green Mountain State'. The former Governor offers reflections as well. Anthony and Stephen were both Rutland Herald reporters covering Montpelier during the Hoff Administration. Anthony later went on to become editor of Newsday, and retired in 2003. Stephen went on to work for Senator Aiken in D.C., and then was with Green Mountain Power.
Chittenden County Historical Society. The Society was founded in 1965 by area residents who shared a deep interest in the history of Chittenden County and the Champlain Valley Region. CCHS is a non-profit membership organization. The Society's mission is to encourage discovery and publication of historical material, to promote original research about the area, to highlight specific topics in our history through informative presentations, and to recognize efforts to preserve our past by making annual awards. Chittenden County includes the Vermont towns and cities of: Bolton, Buel's Gore, Burlington, Colchester, Charlotte, Essex, Essex Junction, Hinesburg, Huntington, Jericho, Milton, Richmond, Shelburne, South Burlington, St. George, Underhill, Westford, Williston and Winooski.
