Episode 28, Genetically Modified food has been a part of the American diet for several yeaqrs-and it's everywhere. 85 percent of U.S. corn, 91 percent of U.S. soybeans. Now, a proposed genetically modified salmon has close to receiving FDA approval. What are the public health risks? The current regulations/legislation covering this new technology? Guests include representatives from Food & Water Watch, and Friends of the Earth. In the second part of the program, the whistleblower website WikiLeaks has caused widespread controversy. Jesselyn Radack discusses WikiLeaks, as well as the cases of Bradley Manning and Thomas Drake, two national security whisltleblowers who are being prosecuted by their own government.

Join host Ivette Torres for this program that shows how addiction is not limited to any one race, religion, creed, or lifestyle. Fortunately, neither are treatment and recovery services. Achieving long-term recovery is often dependent on finding personalized treatment and recovery services that meet the specific individual's cultural, religious, or lifestyle needs. This episode looks at how substance use is acceptable in some cultures and how this may create a barrier for individuals seeking treatment and recovery services; the importance of providing services that incorporate the specific needs of the individual; and how some treatment and recovery models may prove more effective for one group than another.
