Essex Planning Commission 07/14/2016

Essex Planning Commission meetings are all held at the Town Offices at 81 Main Street in Essex Junction, in the downstairs conference room on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. The public is always welcome, and the meetings start promptly at 6:30 PM. If special accommodations are needed please call (802) 878-1343.

Williston Development Review Board 07/12/2016

The Williston DRB consists of a seven member Board appointed by the Selectboard for staggered three year terms. This Board is responsible for reviewing and approving all proposed development projects. This includes conditional use, variance, site plan, and subdivision approvals. The Board also reviews Certificates of Appropriateness as recommended by the Historical Preservation Committee.

Mayor’s Book Group - Triumph of the City by Edward Glaeser 07/07/2016

Mayor Miro Weinberger, the Fletcher Free Library, and the UVM Humanities Center host the Mayor’s Book Group discussion of Triumph of the City: How Our Greatest Invention Makes Us Richer, Smarter, Greener, Healthier, and Happier by Edward Glaeser.

The Mayor’s Book Group is a joint effort between Mayor Weinberger and the UVM Humanities Center, created in 2014 to explore thought-provoking ideas relevant to civic life, culture, and history. Past discussion topics have included the Civil Rights Act of 1964, anti-poverty initiatives, and how data analysis is changing baseball and local government.
