The Burlington City Council Community Development and Neighborhood Revitalization Committee is made up of Councilors David Berezniak (Chair), Ward 2, Emma Mulvaney-Stanak, Ward 3, and Kurt Wright, Ward 4.  Inquiries can be forwarded to CEDO Director Larry Kupferman.  Tonight's agenda includes: NPA Updates, New Business, and Old Business, including a Review status of Community Standards, Wi Fi for Downtown, Charity Drop boxes.  Meeting schedules, agendas and minutes can be found here.

Host Lauren-Glenn Davitian speaks with John Reuwer who traveled with Christian Peacemaker Team to mining zone in Columbia's southern Bolivar province.  John shares his efforts to support small-scale miners organizing to protect their rights in the race of Colombian military efforts to "secure" the zone for multinational investment. Christian Peacemaker Teams is an initiative of the historic peace churches (Mennonites, Church of the Brethren, and Quakers) with support and membership from a range of Catholic and Protestant denominations. CPT has had a continuing presence in Colombia since May 2001..

The South Burlington City Council is made up of 5 citizens who live in the City of South Burlington, elected at-large by the voters of the City. These five councilors sit with 2-3 year terms expiring in an annual rotation. The City Council meets regularly on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of each month to conduct business of the City and carry out the provisions of the City Charter. Special or emergency meetings can be called in the event that an urgent need arises for City Council authorization. City Council meetings are held at City Hall in the conference room and begin at 7pm.  See part one of the meeting here.
