: South Burlington City Council Part 1 06/07/2010

The South Burlington City Council is made up of 5 citizens who live in the City of South Burlington, elected at-large by the voters of the City. These five councilors sit with 2-3 year terms expiring in an annual rotation. The City Council meets regularly on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of each month to conduct business of the City and carry out the provisions of the City Charter. Special or emergency meetings can be called in the event that an urgent need arises for City Council authorization. City Council meetings are held at City Hall in the conference room and begin at 7pm.

The Selectboard is a five member elected board. There are three positions elected for a three year term and two positions elected for a two year term on a staggered basis. The board is responsible for setting the general policy direction, passing ordinances, setting the tax rate, reviewing the budget, supervising the Town Manager and a host of other related tasks. Senator Patrick Leahy: Comcast Digital Connectors Program 06/04/2010

Senator Leahy joins officials from Comcast and the Burlington Boys & Girls Club to announce the Comcast Digital Connectors Program, which expands broadband access to low-income youths. Leahy has championed Boys & Girls Clubs through his roles as a senior member of the Appropriations Committee and Chair of the Judiciary Committee, leading in steadily expanding Clubs and youths served, particularly in rural areas like Vermont.

Senator Patrick Leahy: VT Air Guard Opening New Advanced F-16 Mission Training Center 06/04/2010

The Vermont Air National Guard formally opens its new, state of the art Air National Guard F-16 Mission Training Center with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Senior military leadership of the Vermont Air Guard, National Guard Bureau and the United States Air Force will be joined by U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy who sponsored the $15.9 Congressional funding allocation that included this project.

Burlington Ward 6 NPA Meeting 06/03/2010

Neighborhood Planning Assemblies (NPAs) are grassroots, neighborhood organizations that were established in each of Burlington's seven Wards to encourage citizen participation in City government. Working as neighborhood advocacy groups, Neighborhood Planning Assemblies help improve communication between the citizens of Burlington and City government through regular meetings scheduled in each Ward. Ward 6 meets the first Thursday of the month. Meeting place: Greek Orthodox Church 600 South Willard Street.
