The Essex Junction Trustees is the governing, legislative body for the Municipality of the Village of Essex Junction. The five member board is elected at large within the Village. The board includes the position of Village President. Unlike the appointed chairs of select boards or city councils, the position of president is elected by Australian ballot by Village voters. The three year terms of the Trustees are staggered to provide continuity. The Trustees usually meet twice per month on Tuesday evenings in the meeting room at the Village municipal office building at Five Corners The public is invited to attend all meetings, and may address the board or ask questions during a special “public to be heard” section at the beginning of each meeting.

A program of the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf and Vermont Foodbank, the second class of Community Kithen students graduate. Among the speakers are: Joel Berg, a leading national expert on U.S. hunger and poverty, author and Executive Director of NYC Coalition Against Hunger.

Founder and CEO of Dealer.com, Mark Bonfigli, announces the company's decision to remain in Burlington as they embark on a 3 year, 300 employee expansion.  Those speaking at the announcement: Senator Patrick Leahy, Governor Jim Douglas, Lt. Governor Brian Dubie, Mayor Bob Kiss and Frank Cioffi.

Senator Robert Stafford (1913-2006), a native Vermonter and lifelong Republican, climbed the political ladder to hold every major statewide office. He never lost an election. Appointed to the U.S. Senate in 1971, he won the special election for the seat and was re-elected in 1976 and 1982. As the ranking Republican on the Public Works and Environment Committee, he played the crucial role in passage of the Superfund. Later as committee chair and also chair of the Education Subcommittee, he blocked the Reagan administration's efforts to weaken environmental laws and to cut federally funded education programs.
