Neighborhood Planning Assemblies (NPAs) are grassroots, neighborhood organizations that were established in each of Burlington's seven Wards to encourage citizen participation in City government. Working as neighborhood advocacy groups, Neighborhood Planning Assemblies help improve communication between the citizens of Burlington and City government through regular meetings scheduled in each Ward. Ward 6 meets the first Thursday of the month. Meeting place: Greek Orthodox Church 600 South Willard Street.

Since the Governor's May 20, 2011 announcement that the Circumferential Highway - as originally conceived - would not be built, the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) staff has been coordinating with VTrans, the "CIRC Communities" (Colchester, Essex, Essex Junction, and Williston), and other stakeholders to examine alternatives. The Governor asked the MPO to coordinate a process to identify projects and planning activities to address mobility, congestion, transportation demand, safety, livability, and economic development in the region.

Program Manager Paul Boone shares events and opportunities coming up at Good News Garage. Unlike other car donation programs, Good News Garage repairs many donated cars in order to provide them to low-income individuals and families in need. Good News Garage is a program of Lutheran Social Services.
