Vermont Innovation Week Coming in October

September 08, 2016

Innovation Week, October 14-22, 2016, is a series of events that highlights the vibrant energy of greater Burlington's entrepreneurial, technological and creative ecosystem. Powered by BTV Ignite and its partners, this first-ever weeklong celebration of engaging events has something for everyone who loves what Burlington and Vermont IS — and what it can be.

The week begins with the annual Hack VT, a 24-hour hackathon in which teams compete to build apps that help the state of Vermont, and ends with the 10th Vermont Tech Jam, a two-day job fair and tech expo showcasing some of the area's most exciting employers and their products, along with K-12 student projects displayed in a school mini maker faire.

Each day in between Hack VT and Tech Jam will spotlight innovations in areas like food, beverage and agriculture; energy and efficiency; manufacturing and maker spaces; healthcare and bioscience; software and service tech. Presentations and demos will feature small companies building products using rapid prototyping; larger innovators in food, brewing, coding and software, and advanced manufacturing; and colleges and universities whose research and student-driven projects have a global impact.

BTV Ignite is a nonprofit that exists to ignite the energy of greater Burlington's technology and innovation ecosystem by binding institutions, government, educators, businesses, nonprofits, and entrepreneurs together. It collaborates with a nationwide network of similar efforts united by the nonprofit US Ignite.
