Summer Video Production Internship - Applications Open

Town Meeting TV is hiring two paid interns to join our production team for the summer! The program will run from Monday, June 24th until Friday, August 16th (8 weeks). $17 an hour, approximately 8 hours per week. We are looking for folks who have basic or intermediate experience with video recording and editing on Adobe Premiere. Interns will work with the Town Meeting TV Co-Directors to pick stories or events that they would like to cover in our community, practice outreach skills, then shoot and edit video that will be broadcasted on Town Meeting TV's YouTube and cable channels. Town Meeting TV is hosting a series of roundtable discussions with Chittenden County legislators this spring to understand the bills they've been working on and the conversations unfolding in Montpelier this session. Programs will be broadcasted live on Monday afternoons on YouTube.com/TownMeetingTV and on Town Meeting TV's cable channels (Comcast 1087, BT 217). Members of the press and public are welcome to attend all programs at Town Meeting TV's studio (294 North Winooski Avenue in Burlington). Applications Now Open for the Spring/Summer 2024 Cohort of the Neighborhood Community Media Internship Program at Town Meeting TV

Town Meeting TV is excited to announce that applications are now open for the Spring/Summer 2024 cohort of the Neighborhood Community Media Internship program. Join 8 other youth to engage in interesting media making projects! This paid media internship opportunity is designed for youth aged 16-20 who are eager to gain professional experience in the audio-visual field and develop a deeper understanding of their local community. 5 of these spots are specifically for students who are part of the Burlington My Brother's Keeper/My Sister's Keeper programs. The group will meet under the leadership of Town Meeting TV's Travis Washington from the beginning of April 2024 to the end of August 2024, on a schedule agreed upon by the whole cohort. March 11–15, 2024, marks Civic Learning Week, an annual celebration dedicated to promoting civic education and its importance in preparing people for their roles as informed and engaged participants in our self-governing society. At Town Meeting TV, we offer a robust media education program that often centers around civic engagement. Interns, students, and community members can rent & take out video equipment at no charge to record community events, rallies, and interviews with community leaders, local representatives, and state legislators. The Vermont Language Justice Project Marks 4 Years of Bringing Essential Information to Refugees, Immigrants, and Migrants in Vermont and Beyond

The Vermont Language Justice Project, which started as a volunteer effort to disseminate crucial information to folks throughout the pandemic speaking languages other than English, will celebrate four years of operation on March 18th which was when their first video was posted on the Vermont Multilingual Coronavirus Task Force YouTube Channel in Somali. This video shared lifesaving details about what the virus was and how to take care of oneself. Four years later with three full-time members of staff and 17 contractors working in 18 languages, VLJP has produced over 2,045 videos with over 183,000 views on YouTube, and now boasts 800 subscribers. We are now foreseeing a funding crunch as our major funding will end at the end of this year and are exploring creative means of keeping this important work alive.
