CCTV Honors Indigenous Peoples' Day 2023

Indigenous Peoples’ Day became an official holiday replacing Columbus Day in the state of Vermont in 2019. Today, it serves as a reminder of the strength of indigenous communities throughout the country. CCTV has recorded events, discussions, celebrations, and protests that center indigenous culture, heritage, and voices. These programs bring together indigenous and non-indigenous community members to share stories and celebrate the resilience of the Abenaki people. We offer you some of this programming below with respect and appreciation for the Abenaki people who have an enduring presence in the unceded Abenaki territory that Vermont now occupies.

Applications Now Open for the Summer 2023 Neighborhood Media Internship Program

CCTV Center for Media & Democracy is excited to announce that applications are now open for the Summer 2023 cohort of the Neighborhood Media Internship program. Join 8 other youth to engage in interesting media making projects! This paid media internship opportunity is designed for youth aged 15-19 who are eager to gain professional experience in the audio-visual field and develop a deeper understanding of their local community. 5 of these spots are specifically for students who are part of the Burlington My Brother's Keeper/My Sister's Keeper programs. The group will meet under the leadership of Town Meeting TV's Travis Washington from the end of June 2023 - August of 2023, on a schedule agreed upon by the whole cohort.
