So. Burlington Special City Council Meeting (2/2) 06/13/2016

The South Burlington City Council is made up of 5 citizens who live in the City of South Burlington, elected at-large by the voters of the City. These five councilors sit with 2-3 year terms expiring in an annual rotation. The City Council meets regularly on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of each month to conduct business of the City and carry out the provisions of the City Charter. Special or emergency meetings can be called in the event that an urgent need arises for City Council authorization. City Council meetings are normally held at City Hall in the conference room and begin at 7pm.

South Burlington Chamberlin Neighborhood Project - Shaping Your Community's Future 05/27/2015

A community meeting, sharing hopes and dreams for the South Burlington Chamberlin Neighborhood.

This meeting is part of the Chamberlin Neighborhood Planning Project which engages residents, airport representatives, City officials, and regional stakeholders in a conversation about land use and transportation in the neighborhood. The Planning Project will develop a vision for the neighborhood and strategies for achieving that vision. The outcomes of the study will be documented in a Transportation-Land Use Plan that will be submitted to the South Burlington City Council, and will both serve as the base for next steps in land use and transportation planning in the area; these will also help to inform the Airport’s own planning efforts. A key part of this project is also about establishing communication among all parties, and the study is as much about process as it is about the outcome.

The Chamberlin Neighborhood faces a variety of changes as airport owned vacant houses are demolished, and noise issues persist. The Neighborhood is scheduled to hold a meeting on May 27th, 6:30pm at the Chamberlin School, to continue efforts at addressing neighborhood issues. This show helps in sharing the issues and format of the meeting. Diane Meyerhoff, of Third Sector Associates, is joined by Lee Krohn, Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission, and Paul Conner, Director of Planning and Zoning with the City of South Burilngton. Airport Mitigation 101 Addressing Noise, Families, Neighborhoods 12/09/2013

Calls for a stopping use of F-16 afterburners, putting families back into vacant homes surrounding the airport, and no more home demolitions in the neighborhoods surrounding the airport, are made by Community Activist James Lease and Airport Neighborhood resident, Ray Gonda, prior to a press conference announcing a collaborative planning process by the Cities of Burlington, South Burlington, aimed at addressing issues related to noise abatement and the future use of purchased properties in the greater BTV/Chamberlin School neighborhood.
