These "accidental techies" are great problem solvers--but may lack the support they need to address the range of issues that we expect them to help us with!

Our experience of the internet is accelerating at a rapid pace. The "stream" of emails, web hits, ad impressions, multi-media narratives and range of devices is a challenge for most of us to manage. In the next decade, it will be essential to filter this stream and channel areas of interest. This can be easily done through "tagging" internet content with key words. Tag It! takes on the "how"  tagging pictures, video, listings, blog posts, group book marks, twitter and facebook updates creates a community brain trust larger than we ever imagined.

Andrea Learned, co-author of Don’t Think Pink: What Really Makes Women Buy – and How to Increase Your Share of This Crucial Market (AMACOM, 2004), will give some marketing tips. Andrea is an internationally respected gender marketing expert, speaker and writer. While she focuses on women as the leading indicators of consumer behavior, she also emphasizes that 21st Century men are starting to travel similar buying paths. Andrea believes that storytelling and cause marketing are key ways to present a brand’s facts and attributes to today’s consumer – no gender about it. Andrea contributes to a wide range of publications/blogs, including HuffingtonPost.com, MPDailyfix.com, TomPeters.com, Women-omics.com, and LearnedOnWomen.com - where she presents her most current analysis of consumer/cultural shifts and marketing best practices. She presents regularly to global business audiences, and her opinions have been cited in publications from Adweek to the Christian Science Monitor and The New York Times. With Google AdWords, you can reach the people interested in your organization's information and services. With the right key words, your ad can appear next to relevant Google search results. Google Grants is an in-kind online advertising account which can be used for general outreach, fundraising activities, and volunteer recruitment. Matt Dunne of the Google Foundation runs through the guidelines and application process that can generate web traffic and wider communities of interest for your nonprofit. Instead of looking for an audience, you've got an audience looking for you!
