"Rethink Runoff helps communities consider the impact of stormwater runoff in Chittenden County. Excess water from rain or snowmelt flows over surfaces like driveways, sidewalks, and streets picks up pollutants such as oil and grease, chemicals, nutrients, metals and bacteria, flowing into stormwater systems or directly to the lake, streams, rivers or wetlands."

Sacred Waters Panel Discussion 11/15/2017

This discussion panel is led by spiritual leaders from many different faiths and traditions. They explore how water enters into these faiths and traditions, important rituals, and how polluted or unclean water affects those traditions and beliefs.

This event's discussion focuses on our local watershed and Lake Champlain, and what citizens can do to help protect and preserve this critical resource.

Burlington Water Quality Improvement Plan 08/18/2015

Megan Moir, Manager of Burlington's Stormwater Program, shares information on the City's Water Quality Improvement Plan.

As part of its ongoing effort to seek input on water quality priorities, the City of Burlington has launched an online survey to gauge public views on wastewater treatment and stormwater runoff issues. The survey, which is posted at http://www.burlingtonvt.gov/IntegratedWQPlan_Survey, will be available online until August 25.
Input will be used to help inform Burlington’s plan to improve water quality through a new, integrated planning approach for wastewater and stormwater management.
