Circumferential Highway Alternatives Task Force Meeting 11/29/2012

Since the Governor's May 20, 2011 announcement that the Circumferential Highway - as originally conceived - would not be built, the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) staff has been coordinating with VTrans, the "CIRC Communities" (Colchester, Essex, Essex Junction, and Williston), and other stakeholders to examine alternatives. The Governor asked the MPO to coordinate a process to identify projects and planning activities to address mobility, congestion, transportation demand, safety, livability, and economic development in the region.

The Campus Area Transportation Management Association (CATMA) and Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC), in association with the Cities of South Burlington and Burlington, are currently studying the feasibility of an intermodal transit and parking facility and a new I-89 off-ramp at Exit 14 in South Burlington, Vermont.

CATMA, the CCRPC, and project consultant, David Saladino of Resource Systems Group, present an overview of the scoping study including the project goals and objectives, background information on the existing site and study area, and a discussion of the project schedule and process. The project team describes the characteristics of an intermodal intercept facility and presents examples from around the county.

Summer Video Production Internship - Applications Open

Town Meeting TV is hiring two paid interns to join our production team for the summer! The program will run from Monday, June 24th until Friday, August 16th (8 weeks). $17 an hour, approximately 8 hours per week. We are looking for folks who have basic or intermediate experience with video recording and editing on Adobe Premiere. Interns will work with the Town Meeting TV Co-Directors to pick stories or events that they would like to cover in our community, practice outreach skills, then shoot and edit video that will be broadcasted on Town Meeting TV's YouTube and cable channels.
