Ted Wimpey, Director of CVOE's Fair Housing Project, speaks to the HUD rule of 'Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing, an obligation of state and municipal entities that receive funding from HUD, to proactively further fair housing choice for protected classes, a rule which goes a step beyond simply complying with basic fair housing law.
Focussing on housing programs of Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity. Fair Housing Project (FHP): Advocacy/Public Advocacy, referrals, education and outreach, enforcement, and information regarding Housing Discrimination issues. Mobile Home Project (MHP): Advocacy/Public Advocacy, tenant organizing, referrals, counseling, and information for Manufactured Home Owners who are renting lots - especially those in Mobile Home Parks. Vermont Tenants (VTI): Advocacy/Public Advocacy, organizing, advice, tenant counseling, training, and information regarding Residential Tenancy.
