Description
Community producer James Gero visits the Burlington City Arts' Firehouse Gallery for the show Traverse.
From the Burlington City Arts website:
"Multi-disciplinary artist Crystal Wagner transforms organic and biomorphic designs into colorful prints, sculptures, and sprawling installations comprised of bursting colors and organic forms. Her two and three-dimensional work boasts bright neon hues consisting of distinctive, intricate circular patterns suggestive of the natural world. The artist employs a hybrid approach to printmaking and sculpture, in which she incorporates her screen prints with recycled consumer materials, such as disposable tablecloths, to create textural pieces that are as expansive as they are voluminous. Wagner will create an immense site-specific installation in BCA’s first-floor gallery that grows from floor to ceiling and emerges outside to meander across the exterior façade. This exhibition will be Wagner’s first to simultaneously incorporate interior and exterior space within one work."
