Description

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy, Senator Patrick Leahy, Congressman Peter Welch, Governor Peter Shumlin, and Mayor Miro Wienberger announce the selection of 218 Brownfields Grant investments across the country, including in Vermont.

The Brownfields Assessment Grants of $400,000 each to Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) and the Windham Regional Commission (WRC) will support the assessment of brownfields sites, the redevelopment of which is complicated by the possible presence of environmental contamination.

Both the State of Vermont and the City of Burlington have active brownfields redevelopment programs.
