Common Good Vermont interviews Brigitte Ritchie, Key Bank Foundation's Director of Community Relations about a new grant giving competition. Co-sponsored with FreePressMedia, the Build a Stronger Vermont grant giving competition; offers grants to three Vermont non-profits, ranging from $10,000 to $25,000. All eligible Vermont nonprofits are invited to submit a plan detailing their efforts to improve financial literacy or workplace development and how they would use the grant funds to aid in this process. Submissions are due by 5:00 p.m. on October 15, 2013. As part of Build a Stronger Vermont, a select panel of judges will narrow the field of entries to a maximum of eight finalists. Vermont residents are charged with the process of selecting the final grant recipients by voting for their favorite plans online or using the ballot in the Burlington Free Press.
