Description

The Peace & Justice Center led the campaign for a Livable Wage for all Vermonters from 1997 till 2010. The PJC helped fund and publish ten phases of the Vermont Job Gap Study and partnered with VBSR to create the Livable Jobs Toolkit during that time. These resources became valuable tools used by employers in figuring out how to provide livable wage jobs. In light of the "Skinny Pancake's airport exemption", the PJC is convening a forum for an opportunity to ask questions and get the facts straight. One of the six panelists will be Emma Mulvaney-Stanak, who ran the Vermont Livable Wage Campaign when she was a staff member of the Peace & Justice Center, and then was a member of the City Council and its Ordinance Committee, which reviewed the Livable Wage Ordinance.
