Presented by Tom Visser, University of Vermont, Director of the Vermont Historic Preservation Program.  Porches, some of the most delightful features of many buildings in Chittenden County, Vermont, will be the topic of the May 5th meeting of the Chittenden County Historical Society. The presenter, Prof. Thomas Visser, is the author of the recently published book, Porches of North America. His illustrated presentation will explore the character and historic context of many types of porches, drawing extensively on examples from Chittenden County and Vermont.
