Burlington Mayor Bob Kiss will host a press event to welcome a delegation from Yaroslavl, Russia, visiting Burlington as part of its 1000th year celebration this year.  The delegation from Yaroslavl includes Deputy Mayor Andrey Murashov, Irina
Novikova – Yaroslavl Chair of the Russian-American Friendship Society, three traditional musical performers – one an accomplished Russian organist and two members of the musical group “Uzaren” and Howard Seaver, Chair, Burlington-Yaroslavl Sister City Committee. The Mayor and delegation members will be joined by members of the local Burlington-Yaroslavl sister city committee.


Burlington has enjoyed a formal sister city relationship with Yaroslavl since 1988.  Since that time there have been numerous visits and opportunities for cultural exchange.  The Yaroslavl delegation will be in the Burlington area starting April 27 through May 3.
