Description
Prescription Drug Take Back Day September 25, 2010. The United States Attorney’s Office announced that the Drug Enforcement Administration will be conducting a prescription drug take back day on September 25, 2010. In Vermont, DEA is working with local sheriff departments to conduct the drug take back and will have numerous locations at sheriff and local police departments to which people can turn in left over prescription medications. Abuse of prescription medications, particularly highly addictive and dangerous opiate prescription medications, is a significant public health and public safety issue in Vermont. The U.S. Department of Justice urges persons who have such medications to turn them in at the designated locations so they do not fall into the hands of persons who might abuse them, and so that they are disposed of properly. Collection sites for locations throughout Vermont are available at www.dea.gov.
