Chittenden County Transit Authority General Manager Chris Cole, Local Motion Director Chapin Spencer, Annie Bourdon of CarShare Vermont and other transportation leaders discuss transportation issues, ideas and initiatives. In today's show, Annie Bourdon is talking with Dan Bradley, Transportation Planner of City of Burlington, about current transportation issues.

In March 2009 36 Vermont towns voted to ask the legislature not to approve Vermont Yankee operation for another 20 years and to require Entergy to pay for decommissioning. A coalition of groups is working to encourage more town meeting votes in 2010. The coalition includes the Vermont Public Interest Research Group (VPIRG), Citizens Action Network (CAN), the Vermont Yankee Decommissioning Alliance (VYDA), Nuclear Free, the Sierra Club, and Toxics Action. The campaign is being coordinated by Dan DeWalt, a former selectboard member from Newfane VT. Neighborhood Planning Assemblies (NPAs) are grassroots, neighborhood organizations that were established in each of Burlington's seven Wards to empower citizen participation in City government. Working as neighborhood advocacy groups, Neighborhood Planning Assemblies facilitate communication between the citizens of Burlington and city government through regular meetings scheduled in each Ward. Wards 4 & 7 meet the third Tuesday of the month. Meeting place: Robert E. Miller Community Center 130 Gosse Court.
