Burlington Ward 1 NPA Meeting 05/14/2014

Neighborhood Planning Assemblies (NPAs) are grassroots, neighborhood organizations that were established in each of Burlington's seven Wards to encourage citizen participation in City government. Working as neighborhood advocacy groups, Neighborhood Planning Assemblies help improve communication between the citizens of Burlington and City government through regular meetings scheduled in each Ward. Ward 1 meets the second Wednesday of the month.

The Williston DRB consists of a seven member Board appointed by the Selectboard for staggered three year terms. This Board is responsible for reviewing and approving all proposed development projects. This includes conditional use, variance, site plan, and subdivision approvals. 3rd Annual Mayor's Multi-Modal Tour: Mayor Weinberger Promotes Active Transportation Options 05/09/2014

Mayor Miro Weinberger promoted active transportation options by leading the 3rd annual Mayor’s Multi-Modal Tour around the City by foot, bike, bus, electric vehicle, and vanpool. The tour concluded with a news conference at the ArtsRiot restaurant and events space, Mayor Weinberger highlighted the completion of the City’s short-term pedestrian safety improvements on Pine Street, the new partnership with AARP Vermont, Local Motion, and others to achieve recognition as a national leader in active transportation and recreation as part of the “Go for Gold” initiative, and plans to engage in a planBTV process for Burlington’s South End.
