Vermont Workers' Center: Workers' Memorial Day at Battery Park in Burlington 04/30/2012

The City of Burlington in partnership with the Vermont Workers' Center and the Barre Granite Cutters Association created a new Workers' Memorial at Battery Park in Burlington to commemorate working people who have died, been injured or become disabled on the job. Vermont Workers' Center and local labor unions mark the memorial and day, with stories of family members and individuals who have been impacted by death, injury or illness on the job.

Burlington High School Students Meet to Discuss Racism 04/19/2012

A group of Burlington High School students spent the day protesting racism at the school and in their community by holding signs and speaking out in front of the school. After school they met with Burlington Free Press reporter Molly Walsh and Editor Mike Townsend to discuss recent articles published about them and conversation in the community about achievement, test-scores and racism. Burlington Wards 4 & 7 NPA Meeting 04/17/2012

Neighborhood Planning Assemblies (NPAs) are grassroots, neighborhood organizations that were established in each of Burlington's seven Wards to empower citizen participation in City government. Working as neighborhood advocacy groups, Neighborhood Planning Assemblies facilitate communication between the citizens of Burlington and city government through regular meetings scheduled in each Ward. Wards 4 & 7 meet the third Tuesday of the month. Meeting place: Robert E. Miller Community Center 130 Gosse Court.

CCTV Receives NEH Grant to Support Community Archives

CCTV Center for Media & Democracy is pleased to announce receipt of a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Humanities Collections and Reference Resources grant alongside 32 peer archival institutions across the country.
