Partizanfilm - Burlington's New Cinema 07/22/2025

Steven Heron, CCTV, hosts a conversation with [TBD 4 people] about Partizanfilm. Partizanfilm has purchased a ground-floor commercial unit at 230 College Street in downtown Burlington, across the street from the Fletcher Free Library. They are working to turn it into a two-screen “microcinema” that will show first-run independent and foreign films seven days a week, as well as occasional repertory fare.

Juneteenth: South Burlington Juneteenth 2025: Banned Storytime with VSARN 06/21/2025

VSARN's book project introduces Vermont children to books about diversity, equity, and inclusion - with fun activities, discussions, and mentorship from high school students included as part of the read aloud. This summer, we will be touring libraries to read banned books for youth of all ages, from toddler to middle school.

VSARN is a nonprofit that is founded and run by students in high school and college. We work to achieve education without racism through education about racism. More specifically, we spend our time creating education policy that supports students, developing anti-racist schools and communities, and building support systems for our youth. South Burlington's Juneteenth 2025 is a week-long series of events and programs celebrating contemporary Black culture. From cooking classes to historical discussions, yoga sessions to musical celebrations, help us celebrate our BIPOC community this Juneteenth!

VT Senior Games Track and Field Championships 2025 06/15/2025

From Vermont Senior Games:

The meet will be held on Sunday, June 15 at Burlington High School's D.G. Weaver Sports Complex, 52 Institute Road, in Burlington, Vermont. This is the first Vermont Senior Games event at the newly-refurbished BHS track and field facility. Senior athletes from Vermont and other locales will find fun, fitness, and fellowship, together with friendly competition and professional timing. The order of the running events will be: 50-meter dash; 1500-meter run; 100-meter dash; 400-meter run; 800-meter run; and the 200-meter dash. Field events offered are long jump; triple jump; high jump; shot put; discus; javelin; and pole vault.

Enjoy the meet and the ambiance of a beautiful facility close to the shores of Lake Champlain!

Burlington Trout Parade Workshop 05/10/2025

From the organizers:

The Flynn is partnering with Burlington’s Sustainability Academy and the Burlington School District to create the first annual Burlington Trout Parade.

Create watershed-themed puppets and flags for the first annual Burlington Trout Parade! These free workshops invite community members of all ages to work with Janice Walrafen, co-founder of Montpelier’s All Species Day Parade, and printmaker, muralist and activist Uncle Erok to make parade art that celebrates the Lake Champlain Watershed. Participants will make art for the Trout Parade and will learn block printing and puppet making techniques.

Come for the whole time or stop in for an hour. We hope that all workshop participants will join the parade, but this is not a requirement for participation.
