CCTV & Town Meeting TV Studio Closed & COVID Update
Updated May 18, 2020
Dear CCTV & Town Meeting TV Community Members:
Given our assessment of COVID-19 health risks and CDC recommendations for curbing the spread of the virus through social distancing, CCTV and Town Meeting Television are taking the following measures, effective Friday, March 13th.
CCTV & Town Meeting TV studios and offices will be closed to the public, at least through Tuesday, June 30th. All studio programs, training, internships, and tours will be postponed until a later date. We will keep you updated on developments.
We will continue to air 24/7 on BT 17/217, Comcast 17/1087, and live stream on YouTube at (Town Meeting TV).
Town Meeting TV will continue to prioritize municipal meetings for coverage. We are in contact with our municipal colleagues and await news of changes in public meeting protocols. We will work with our municipal members to determine the most effective ways to reach a “remote” public during this period. Program requests will be evaluated on a case by case basis. We will use our discretion on the deployment of our field producers, as their well-being is our priority.
Free speech continues to be important during this time. CCTV/Town Meeting TV will accept, air, and share your publicly produced videos using online means. Please send them to us at https://www.cctv.org/SendYourVideos Do not hesitate to contact us directly if you have questions or need help with this process.
CCTV/Town Meeting TV staff will work remotely to continue to process public events and carry out administrative tasks. We will be actively monitoring email communications and will notify you of developments using email and social media channels.
Please do not hesitate to contact key members of our staff directly with questions or concerns.
