CCTV Center for Media & Democracy Announces New Staff Members

CCTV Center for Media & Democracy is pleased to welcome new staff members to our team. Laura Hale joins us as the new Coordinator for Common Good Vermont, Jessica Bright joins the CCTV IT Department as Network Coordinator. Tyler Dion and Phillipe Floyd join Channel 17/Town Meeting TV as field producers covering local community meetings and events.

jessicaJessica Bright moved to Vermont in 2002 to attend college, and graduated in 2006 with a B.S. in Computer Networking from Champlain College.  Her first professional position was with Nanya Technology Corp in Burlington followed by rbTechnologies, a central Vermont IT consulting and managed service company.  

 

 

 

lauraLaura Hale comes to Common Good VT after serving as the Community Development Specialist and Program Director of the AmeriCorps VISTA program at Burlington's Community and Economic Development Office. Previous to her work with CEDO, she served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the United Way of Chittenden County, ran the online sales department at the Crow Bookshop, and spent four years as a fundraiser and grant specialist for the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington.  She is also a small businesses owner and has run Found Beauty Studio since 2006, which includes founding the upcoming monthly Old North End Art Market at North End Studios.  Her volunteer activities include serving as a board member of Kingdom County Productions and the Old North End Arts Business Network, working with All Breed Rescue, and serving as a guardian ad litem in Chittenden Family Court.

 

phillipePhilippe Floyd, is a resident of Richmond Vermont and a member of the Huntington River Conservation Partnership. His experience includes ABC 22 News, UPN 39, and CBS Sports Collegiate Championships. " I am an avid sports fan and have enjoyed videotaping UVM and Middlebury College games and races. I raise and protect my family of dogs, rabbits, chickens, and hilarious ducks at my forest home. Election year campaigns both locally and nationally also elevate my interest each year."

 

 

 

 

Tyler Dion has lived in the Burlington area all of his life. He first got involved with community media in 1998 as a way to volunteer and contribute. Since then, he has come to appreciate the level of access community media provides to both citizens and their civil servants. At Channel 17, he "looks forward to putting my skills to work helping to maintain the link between local government and its residents."
