CCTV Center for Media + Democracy is a nationally recognized community media center based in Burlington, Vermont. Hours, Salary and Benefits: The position is full-time mainly during weekdays, with occasional weekday evenings and occasional weekend hours. Starting wage of $43-47k /year commensurate with experience, skills, education and training.

Job description:  The Town Meeting TV Co-Director of Production is responsible with the Co-Director of Operations for maintaining the Town Meeting TV government access TV channels on cable and online, fulfilling the contract with the Town Meeting TV Trustees, managing the Trustees resources, budgets, archival assets, and team to meet the basic mission of Town Meeting TV under the umbrella of CCTV Center For Media and Democracy. 

This person has an understanding of local government in Chittenden County and uses this knowledge to intake, process and assign production jobs for Town Meeting TV coverage. This position manages field producers, post producers, and production resources and assists in studio and field production on a limited basis. This position schedules and manages the production of public meetings, events and sourcing community programming that will air on Town Meeting TV’s cable channels and online outlets.

The Co-Director is dedicated to free speech and open government, enjoys communicating with people from a variety of backgrounds, is detail oriented, and has a demonstrated professional video production/ post production experience, and facility for managing schedules, people, and production resources in field and studio settings in a timely manner.  The Co Director of Productions works closely with the Co Director of Operations to shepherd the Town Meeting TV resources on behalf of the Trustees.

This position is split 70/30. The CCTV productions Coordinator manages and builds our professional production company, CCTV Productions to meet community production needs and support our other mission based work. 

This is a management position responsible to staff and supervisors.

Customer Relations & Outreach

GOAL: Improve Town Meeting TV through customer feedback and response.

Public representative of Town Meeting TV. Works with the Channel Co-Director to determine coverage resources and how to fulfill Town Meeting TV contracted responsibilities and mission.

Performs outreach on behalf of the organization to expand our reach and mission and to make the resources we shepherd available to a wide variety of public constituents.

Supervision and Employee Development

GOAL:

Responsible for the overall well being of and responsive to the needs of production staff. 

Training staff on A/V equipment, regular check ins, creating tutorials, ensuring staff are up to date on production techniques and goals.

Making sure production staff have and understand the tools needed to get their jobs done.

Organizing Field Producer meetings.

Required Skills:

Production Support

Goal: High quality production in field and studio.

Support studio, field production, and post production of municipal meetings and events.

Support live meeting coverage on-call and for special events.

Organize and understand production priorities and needs for weekly staff meeting specifically in regards to technical resources. 

Coordinating lynchpin - identify when events might need to be moved to a communications and marketing level.

Work with staff, interns or community producers as needed on adobe editing and special projects in support of the outreach and training efforts.

Responsible for overseeing Asset Tiger Inventory, equipment room organization, equipment is assigned accurately, equipment is repaired. People have what they need to work and the org assets are managed well. (Capital Budget management)

Documenting production workflows. Field, studio, titling, accessibility systems etc.

Studio/Field/Post Production

GOAL: Provide easy and clear live access to community meetings and events. Provide post production support.

Cover meetings, events, & press conferences as assigned for Town Meeting TV and CCTV Productions.

Post produce meetings or events in a timely manner (generally within 48 hours of recording) at the request of the production coordinator. 

Identify opportunities and participate in coverage of unique community coverage.

CCTV Productions Management

 

Assist with management of CCTV Productions special projects as needed with room to grow the business.

Manage client communications, prepare estimates, process invoices with the business manager.
