Thursday, 11/12 - Interrupted Life: Incarcerated Mothers in the US Tomorrow at UVM Co-sponsored by the VT Children's Aid Society, VT Works for Women, other Vermont groups that work with incarcerated women and their children throughout Vermont. Opening reception with exhibit curator, historian and author Ricki Solinger slated for 11/12 at 5 p.m. Exhibit runs from Nov. 9-20 at the Davis Center Livak Fireplace Lounge on UVM's campus. Join us for Media Maven Lunch: Strategies for Reaching Women (and Men)- Thursday 11/19  from 12 to 1:30 p.m. @ Channel 17's studios, 294 North Winooski Ave, Burlington. From the CommunityFrom Bob Purvis of Hardwick, via Common Good Vermont listserv. On Monday the Wall Street Journal published a special section on philanthropy. There are several good pieces in it, but I'd  particularly recommend the cover piece by Pablo Eisenberg, titled,   "What's Wrong With Charitable Giving: How to Fix It." He lists 9 ways that foundations and wealthy individuals can better meet the needs of  charities and address some of our most urgent public needs.  Read here. Respond to the post  here
