Position: CCTV Co-Director
Full Time 40 hours/ Exempt
Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000
CCTV pays full premiums for health, dental, vision benefits, contributes to employee HSA, and provides 12-16 holidays and CTO of 18-24 days per year.

CCTV Center for Media and Democracy is a nationally recognized and locally appreciated community media center housing Town Meeting TV, CCTV Productions, and The VT Language Justice Project. We are transitioning from a founding executive director to a shared leadership model comprising co-directors of Operations and Projects.

The co-director responsible for operations oversees four key areas: Financial Management, Technical Support, Revenue Development, and Human Resources.  The position supervises and works with the Business Manager, Technical Services Director/team, and the Development Director/team to ensure financial security and continuity of operations.

Help move CCTV into the next decade. Work with a stellar staff to open the doors of local democracy and expand the organization’s reach and impact in pursuit of media justice.

The Co-directors work together to build community relationships, stay on top of community needs and industry trends within the sector, ensure the fiscal health of the organization, establish and meet organization based performance goals, meet program goals, manage risk and steward CCTV’s projects and assets, including cultivating staff leadership throughout the organization.

This co director team will work to build internal leadership and manage a coordinating committee of independent and capable program leaders in service of the organization's mission and in benefit to its employees.

This position reports to: CCTV Board of Directors. The Board sets compensation, strategic direction, results-based organization goals and evaluates progress toward those goals. 

Description: CCTV’s mission is served through the work of multiple projects including Town Meeting TV, CCTV Productions, Vermont Language Justice Project, CCTV Archives and Internships. The Director of Operations supervises and works with the Business Manager, Technical Services Director/team, and the Development Director/team to ensure the financial security and continuity of operations for CCTV Center for Media & Democracy.  The Director of Operations oversees four key areas: Financial Management, Technical Support, Revenue Development, Human Resources.

The Co-Director of Operation Responsibilities:

Senior Organizational Leadership

  • Collaborates with a brilliant team.

  • Actively develops the new co-leadership model.

  • Ready to build the business of CCTV and its projects.

  • Outreach to the community to expand the reach of the organization.

  • Collaborates with people from diverse backgrounds.

Financial Management 

  • Serves as the primary budget officer, managing revenue and expenditures in concert with staff leadership. 

  • Stewards CCTV’s assets, manages risk and ensures that systems are in place to protect financial, technical and human capital that underpins the organization’s work. Develops and Implements Continuity of Operations Plan.

  • Understands the day to day work of projects in order to represent and support them financially and logistically.

  • Regular financial reporting to co-director, staff and Board.

  • Negotiates contracts alongside co director.

Technical Support

  • Understands, articulates and manages the technical needs of projects and works with staff to help triage and manage technical services.

Revenue Development

  • Enables financial resilience by working with the Revenue Development Director on an annual plan (Development/ Outreach) to increase CCTV’s  reach and impact while building a secure and diverse financial future.

  • Articulates the organization’s mission and activities for fundraising and development purposes. 

 Human Resources

  • Supervises the Business Manager, the Development Director and the Technical Services team and is responsible to their staff.

  • Maintains up to date HR portfolio in collaboration with CCTV’s Business Manager for compliance and workflow.
