Daniel Bernard Roumain Finishes a 24-Hour Protest Performance 10/24/2019

Daniel Bernard Roumain, known as DBR, is an extraordinary violinist from Haiti. He staged a 24-hour protest in front of City Hall, Burlington to protest the Trump administration policies on immigration. The artist is in the middle of a residency with the Flynn Center, the Lane Series and the Vermont Symphony Orchestra.

Burlington's Parent University graduation ceremony includes over 50 New Americans graduating from the program. A variety of keynote speakers such as Superintendent Yaw Obeng, City Council President Kurt Wright, and City Councilor Ali Dieng address the crowd and congratulate participants. The ceremony is followed with performances by local groups.
