Her brother, Lenny Burke, suffered a traumatic brain injury when Kathleen was just 10 years old. She spent her youth helping care for others. When her daughter was diagnosed with autism, Kathleen had the tools to create a supported living environment for her own daughter, modeled after Lenny Burke Farm.

Martha’s Barn Inc. is a grassroots charity that will fill a needed gap in the Essex community for young adults with autism. It has yet to break ground."
