What's Up Williston: Preparing for Gardening Season 05/09/2019

This month's show helps prepare you for the gardening season. First, Lauren Layn from the Chittenden Solid Waste District joins host Erik Wells to discuss and demonstrate how to compost at home. Later, UVM Extension Master Gardeners and Williston in Bloom Members Sue Stanne and June Jones join the program to demonstrate proper planting techniques and to discuss a number of topics related to spring gardening. The program wraps up with the community notebook to explore what is happening in town.

This month Catamount Outdoor Family Center Operations Manager Tag Carpenter joins host Erik Wells to provide an overview of the activities offered at the Center and discusses the Town’s recent purchase of the property as a new community forest. Later, Williston Planning Director and Zoning Administrator Matt Boulanger stops by to discuss growth planned for the Taft Corners area of town and answers some common questions about the development review process. Finally, we take a look at upcoming events and happenings around town in the Community Notebook.

What's Up Williston: Learning about the Chittenden County Opioid Alliance and Gearing up for Spring with Recreation & Parks 03/13/2019

This month Chittenden County Opioid Alliance Executive Director Christine Johnson joins host Erik Wells to discuss the program’s work and share information about the upcoming community forum in Williston on April 10th that will focus on substance use and prevention. Later, Williston Recreation and Parks Director Todd Goodwin stops by the show to share what is coming up this spring.
