Memorial Day Ceremony at Fallen Heroes Memorial 05/23/2024

From Vermont National Guard:

The Vermont National Guard hosts a ceremony recognizing Memorial Day and Gold Star Families. Special guests include Gold Star Families and Governor Phil Scott. The ceremony is intended to honor the fallen from all conflicts and all branches of service. It includes remarks from a keynote speakers, the placing of a wreath at the Fallen Heroes Memorial, and other military traditions for rendering honors to fallen Service Members and their families who have sacrificed so much while serving their country.

CCTV Time Machine: Michael Monte 05/23/2024

Host Meghan O'Rourke, CCTV, interviews Michael Monte, Champlain Housing Trust’s Chief Executive Officer. He worked at Burlington’s Community and Economic Development Office (CEDO) from its creation and was its longest serving Director. Prior to CEDO, he was employed as Executive Director for several non-profit organizations including the King Street Center.

Burlington Bank & Cherry Streets Public Improvements Meeting 05/23/2024

From the City of Burlington:

In 2016, Burlington voters approved $22M in Tax Increment Financing (TIF) for purchasing the reconstructed St. Paul and Pine Streets and improvements to Cherry and Bank Streets. The CityPlace Burlington (CPB) developer will be designing and constructing the new segments of St. Paul and Pine Streets prior to the City’s acquisition of these streets. The City is developing the conceptual designs for the future of Bank and Cherry Streets using the Great Streets Standards for Burlington’s Downtown. This is about designing an inclusive downtown for all Burlingtonians.

Rob Mermin - Running Home to the Circus 05/22/2024

Meghan O'Rourke, CCTV, hosts a conversation with Rob Mermin, Author and Founding Director of Circus Smirkus, about his new book Circus Smirkus: 25 Years of Running Home to the Circus. Rob’s coffee table book is a comprehensive history of the company full of color photos, stories, anecdotes, interviews, and the fun of the circus!

Circus Smirkus is a nonprofit arts and education organization based in Greensboro, Vermont. Their mission is to promote the skills, culture, and traditions of the traveling circus, and to inspire youth to engage in life-changing adventures in the circus arts.

I-89 Exit 14 Scoping Study Presentation 05/22/2024

From CCRPC and the City of South Burlington:

The CCRPC initiated a scoping study for the I-89 Exit 14 area that builds on the work conducted during the I-89 2050 Study. This scoping study refines previously identified alternatives and investigates other options to address safety, connectivity, and other multimodal issues in the study area. The goal of the Exit 14 scoping is to select a preferred interchange alternative to recommend to VTrans that addresses the needs and meets the purpose of the project as articulated by stakeholders and the public.
