Join us to demand that the city of Burlington shut down the super-polluting McNeil biomass power plant. 

McNeil burns trees to generate electricity, accelerating the climate crisis and spewing harmful air pollution into our neughborhoods and our lungs.

Burlington Electric Department hosts a day of outdoor fun for the whole family to share Burlington’s Net Zero Energy vision.

Please join us at BED's 585 Pine Street headquarters, where we'll have activities for people of all ages focused on reducing fossil fuel use and electrifying everything, including: renewably-powered food trucks (Pizza44's solar-powered pizza truck and its electric ice cream scoop-mobile and Scout and Company coffee and pastries); games and activities for children; raffles; E-bike test rides; EV viewing; mobile bike repair unit; secure bike parking; local vendors that provide heat pump, solar, and electric lawn care products; carshare and biking partners; BED energy experts; a special visit by our favorite, friendly, furry mascot CHAMP in the morning; and more!

Ribbon Cutting St. Joseph’s Orphanage Memorial 09/05/2025

A ribbon cutting ceremony for a memorial for St. Joseph's Orphanage.

The Voices of St. Joseph’s Orphanage mission is to ensure the safety of children, both now and in the future, and hold accountable those who abuse them. The group have collectively approved a core set of projects, which we have been successfully advancing. Our efforts were recognized in April of 2021: VOICES was awarded the Survivor/Activist Award by the Vermont Center for Crime Victim Services for creating systemic change for all crime victims.
