Description
From the organizers:
Keynote speaker Sara Bronin is a Mexican-American architect, attorney, policymaker and professor at Cornell University whose interdisciplinary work focuses on how law and policy can foster more equitable, sustainable, well-designed, and connected places. Bronin is the founder of DesegrateCT, an effort to expand housing opportunity in Connecticut by mapping zoning restrictions, promoting transit-oriented communities, advocating for sensible lot sizes for homes, and reducing bureaucracy. She is currently leading efforts to create a national zoning atlas to expand this work.
Bronin shares evidence from her work on the connections between housing and zoning and on opportunities for zoning data to better inform advocacy. She also describes how aggregating information on zoning regulations at the state and national levels can help us better understand its relationship to housing affordability and diversity and offers new hope for improving zoning decisions in the future.
Organized by Vermont Housing Finanace Authority.
