Burlington Ward 5 NPA Meeting 07/26/2011

Neighborhood Planning Assemblies (NPAs) are grassroots, neighborhood organizations that were established in each of Burlington's seven Wards to empower citizen participation in City government. Working as neighborhood advocacy groups, Neighborhood Planning Assemblies facilitate communication between the citizens of Burlington and city government through regular meetings scheduled in each Ward. Ward5 meet Department of Public Works Building, 645 Pine Street.

Todd Litman - Focus on Transportation 07/13/2011

Todd Litman of the Victoria Transport Policy Institute (VTPI), Victoria, BC, Canada is the founder and Executive Director fo the VTPI and has worked on numerous studies that evaluate transportation costs, benefits and innovations. He his part of the team currently working on the Transportation Study for the Burlington Downtown & Waterfront Plan. This event is co-sponsored by the City of Burlington, the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission and Main Street Landing Performing Arts Center.

: South Burlington City Council - Transportation Public Meeting 06/16/2011

The South Burlington City Council is made up of 5 citizens who live in the City of South Burlington, elected at-large by the voters of the City. These five councilors sit with 2-3 year terms expiring in an annual rotation. The City Council meets regularly on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of each month to conduct business of the City and carry out the provisions of the City Charter. Special or emergency meetings can be called in the event that an urgent need arises for City Council authorization. Normally, City Council meetings are held at City Hall in the conference room and begin at 7pm.

Simultaneous to the Vermont Chamber event was a protest outside by members of 'Peace' organizations including 'No Lockheed' and the 'Peace and Justice Center', unhappy with Vermont engaging with 'war economy' businesses in an effort to promote state business development.

Burlington Ward 6 NPA Meeting 06/02/2011

Working as neighborhood advocacy groups, Neighborhood Planning Assemblies help improve communication between the citizens of Burlington and City government through regular meetings scheduled in each Ward. Ward 6 meets the first Thursday of the month. Meeting place: Greek Orthodox Church 600 South Willard Street.

Burlington Bike Path Damage 05/26/2011

Community Producer Phil Lavigne explores the damage done to the Burlington bike path considering the Keybank Vermont City Marathon that runs through many parts of the path. Lavigne speaks with City Councilor Kurt Wright and talks about what the Parks and Recreation Department are doing to keep the path safe for users.
