Public Hearing Regarding Charter Changes For Annual City Election 01/22/2026

From the City of Burlington:

Pursuant to the requirements of 17 V.S.A. Sec. 2645, the first public hearing concerning a proposed amendment to the Burlington City Charter will be held on Tuesday, January 20th, 2026 during the regularly scheduled City Council meeting which begins at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in Contois Auditorium, 2nd Floor, City Hall, Burlington, Vermont and will also be streamed via Zoom.

Voting is easy and convenient. Polls are open from 7am to 7pm, and you can also vote early at your Clerk’s office or by mail.

New to voting or need to register? No problem. Vermont allows same-day voter registration right at your polling place.

Emily Brewer, CCTV, interviews Dean Roy. Dean Roy is a student at Stowe Middle School and a member of the Freedom and Unity party. Born and raised in Vermont, Roy has developed strong ties to his community and city. His plans include consolidating school districts, taxing large corporations and short-term rentals, strengthening ties with Canada and the EU, and keeping Vermont free from all those who try to harm it. If elected, Roy would be the youngest Governor in the history of America.
