Vermonters Honored at Alliance for Community Media NE Summit
December 10, 2025
Monday was a great day for community media in Vermont! A small crew traveled to Northampton, Massachusetts to represent CCTV at the 2025 Alliance for Community Media Northeast Region one-day summit. The gathering offered an inspiring chance to hear updates from other public access centers, connect with peers across the region, and bring home new ideas to strengthen how we serve our community.
This year was particularly exciting because CCTV’s very own Jordan Mitchell was recognized as the inaugural winner of the Bright Future Award! This award honors professionals who take on new leadership challenges to support community media on a local, state, or national level. It celebrates people who step up, take initiative, and expand their impact in service of the Alliance for Community Media’s mission. We couldn’t imagine a more deserving recipient than Jordan!
Jordan serves as the Co-Director of Operations for Town Meeting TV and as CCTV’s Chief Archivist. She oversees day-to-day productions, is committed to creating high-quality and culturally inclusive content, and also manages CCTV’s archive of more than 40,000 analog programs dating back to the 1980s. In other words, she’s CCTV’s superhero!
In her acceptance speech, Jordan reminded us that “it is important that we keep showing up for community media, now more than ever, so that it might continue to shine and have a bright future for future generations.”
And the excitement didn’t stop there!
During the Nor’Easter Award Ceremony, an annual celebration recognizing outstanding community media programming, three Vermont access centers won a first place award in their respective program categories.
- Town Meeting TV won first place in the “Government Issues and Political Process” category for our 2024 Town Meeting Day Election Results Show! Election coverage has been a core part of our work for decades, and it’s wonderful to see the care and effort behind this program honored by the region.
- Media Factory received a first place award in the “Profile Talk Show” category with their program Jonesy’s Cat Cafe.
- Greater Northshire Access Television (GNAT-TV) received a first place award in the “Instructional and Training” category for their program Our Gardens - Autumn in Vermont.
What a great honor for Vermont’s community media centers, and what a bright future we have ahead us!
